The course will include standard topics such as:

The course is a process that will evolve as the course proceeds, and is also dependent upon attending student musical preferences. Students are required to be open to other student's musical preferences, even if they're not their choice, as it's not a one-to-one course. %.

Entry Requirements

Beginners and those with a little experience. The class will be structured to meet the needs of the majority of students enrolled. Students are invited to bring a musical instrument to this course if they have one. It's perfectly acceptable to attend this course without an instrument, although instruments will not be provided. Some students may just appreciate music and not wish to play an instrument. It is important for each student to contact me pre-application, by e-mail (laurance@highlightdp.com). or text or telephone 07989 139079 to discuss their requirements please? (I may be abroad the 2 weeks just prior to the course without my mobile, so e-mail is best as I have remote access). Thank you, Laurance Mendes - Course Tutor.

Attendance

10 weeks on a Tuesday 6.30 - 8.30pm (plus a possible mini concert of our music, at a local Hereford cafe at the last session).

Course Costs Tuition Fee: £65

Now we look at each item:

1

The course level is  -  Beginners.  The course aim is to provide students with an essential basic education in general music appreciation.

I would like to see how this is to be achieved and have called for a programme for the rest of the course.

One interpretation of this text relates to it being a let-out clause if problems ensue from only two of six students being beginners in the instrument context. At one end of the scale is Bizzy who plays bass guitar and guitar and writes songs. With her are John and Megg.  You know those who are at the other end of the scale.

The course is a process that will evolve as the course proceeds,

A reasonable statement in itself but without a course programme stating week by week what will broadly happen, there is no evident direction.  I deal with the haphazard aspects at 2 and 3.2  here

b

and is also dependent upon attending student musical preferences.

Which is why, among many other aspects,  I will probably leave the course after Tuesday 21 Feb.

Read that in the context of Different musical styles being a standard topic and my comment at 3b. There is no evidence that I have not accepted the other members' preferences.  I saw that the bagpipe and Flamenco guitar would not fit into the genre selected - modern music.  All I did was to put the Potiphar song forward as a variation.
